The Board of Directors and Committee Members are volunteers from the local community who have a range of skills from a variety of backgrounds.

In 2016 the group received a legacy donation from Bundoran Town Council which enabled the purchase of the former AIB Bank building on the Main Street to create a community center. Bundoran Community Centre opened its doors in August that year and has retained some of the original features including vaults, safe doors, stained glass windows and staircase.

The centre operated with the volunteers from the Board of Directors and Committee, participants on employment schemes from Tus and CE and work placement students. There are a variety of programs and activities available for people of all ages and abilities to engage in, and we’re happy to offer our community a wide range of options for them to enjoy.

In 2018 the centre redeveloped the rear of the building with grant funding from LEADER through Donegal Local Development CLG. This created an accessible and multi-use space now known as the Rougey Suite.

In August 2018, the Magh Ene Historical Society opened their museum in the building using two original vaults on the ground floor.

In 2019 the centre developed the top floor as CoWork Plus Bundoran with CoLabora, the European Cooperation project on Coworking spaces in rural areas funded by LEADER.

In Summer 2020, the company became successful in receiving funding from Pobal to employ two full-time staff under the Community Services Programme.

Bundoran Community Centre is dedicated to enriching the lives of community members in the Bundoran area. Our staff work extra hard all year long to keep things interesting at Bundoran Community Centre!
